Charles “Chuck” A. Haney, 80, of Goshen, died Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Majestic Care of Goshen after a long battle with cancer.
He was born April 12, 1943 in Goshen to John and Rev. Mollie (Hoot) Haney.
On May 4, 1963 he married Verda M. Chupp in Goshen. Chuck was able to make two milestones very recently, he celebrated his 80 th birthday and 60 th wedding anniversary.
She survives along with two children, Kimberly S. (Jeryl) Miller, Goshen and Jeffrey C. (Carrie) Haney, Syracuse; six grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Brooke (fiancé Alan Rivera) Miller, Alex Haney, Dustin (fiancé Lauren Taylor) Graber, Kelsie (Omar) Shoukry and Shelby (Drew) Sauder; one great-granddaughter, Talia Shoukry; a sister, Marie Janacek, Fremont and a brother-in-law, Olen Eash, Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ella Eash.
Chuck worked as a mechanic for Eby Ford he then later worked in the maintenance department at the Mica Shop. His favorite job was driving Cardinal Bus part time for 20 years.
He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, never missing a sporting event. He was a long-time member of the New Paris Missionary Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 10 from 3 to 8 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Thursday, May 11 from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service at New Paris Missionary Church. David Hackney will officiate.
Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square Cemetery.
