Charles S.N. Cripe, 82, of Goshen, died early Friday morning, November 9, 2007, at Courtyard of Goshen. He was born in New Paris, Indiana, on June 20, 1925, to Norman E. and Lydia (Inbody) Cripe.  He married Caroline Wald on June 20, 1951 at Waterford Christian Church.  She survives. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Cripe worked for NIPSCO in construction.  He was a member of the VFW#985, and the Goshen Masonic Lodge.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; two daughters, Catherine R. Cripe of Elkhart and Mary L. Cripe of Goshen; and a grandson, Charles Gardner. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Edward Cripe; a sister, Velda Swartzel and four brothers, Walter, Pete, Loyal and Edward Cripe. Friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 12, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  DAV Chaplain Warren Swartz will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Building Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
