Charlene S. Schmidt

Charlene S. Schmidt, 65, of Goshen, died early Friday morning, July 10, 2009, at her home. She was born in Platteville, Wisconsin on February 13, 1944, to the late Charles and Betty (Gard) Witzig.  She married Peter Schmidt on August 4, 1962 in Lancaster, Wisconsin.  He survives. A Goshen resident for the past 20 years, Mrs. Schmidt worked as a teller for Key Bank.  Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Michael (Rockell) Schmidt of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Rodney (Debra) Schmidt of Wakarusa; three grandson, Brent Schmidt and Levi and Lance Miller; a granddaughter, Jenna Schmidt;  two great-grandchildren, Rantz and Jonah Miller; and two brothers, Richard Witzig of Boscobel, Wisconsin, and Robert (Holly) Witzig of Monfort, Wisconsin. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  Rev. Mary Ann Floerke will officiate.
