Charlene F. Farmwald, 75, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at I.U. Hospital Indianapolis after a very courageous 20 day battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Charlene was born October 3, 1939 in Goshen, the daughter of Otis and Etta (Buzzard) Weaver. She graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1957 and married the love of her life, Don Farmwald on Oct. 27 of that same year. He survives. Charlene was a devoted mother to four children, Susan (Darryl) Begay of Pittsboro, Bryan Farmwald of Angola, Kendra Sanders of Goshen and Janelle (Wes) Herschberger of Millersburg. Her seven grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. They are Derek, Ryan and Drew Sanders, Adam and Holly Herschberger and Matthew and Haley Begay. She is also survived by four siblings, Ken (Dolores) Weaver, Carolyn Graber, Ron (Shirleen) Weaver and Jan (Gary) Ramer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Andrew Begay. Charlene was retired from Mennonite Mutual Aid in Goshen. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and loved to be outside mowing the lawn and working in the dirt. She was known far and wide for her perfect pies and her chocolate chip cookies, which she kept on hand in the freezer at all times for her grandchildren. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and faithful servant of God. Visitation will be on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, 61115 State Road 15, Goshen. A Tuesday, May 5, 2015, funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon. A private burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church.
