Chad Michael Smith

Chad Michael Smith, 29, went to Heaven on Saturday, June 22nd.  He was born in Peoria, Illinois on August 27, 1989.  Chad lived in Pontiac, Illinois, Massillon, Ohio, Goshen, and Bloomington.    Chad was currently living in Boca Rotan, Florida for a year through his employment with White Lodging Hotels.

Chad was a 2008 Graduate of Goshen High School, and a Graduate with Honors from Indiana University in 2018.

Chad enjoyed everything about Chicago, and eventually wanted to work there with White Lodging.  He enjoyed travel, trying new things, and I.U. sports.  However, he was the happiest spending time with family.

Chad’s love of life was evident to everyone around him.  Everywhere he was from the time he was a child at the Boys & Girls Club in Goshen through College through his work, he left a mark with everyone he met.

He is survived by his parents, Michael (Pam) Smith, Goshen and Linda (David Johns) Smith, Massillon, Ohio; sisters, Amanda (Keith) Eberhardt, Canton, Ohio and Ashley Smith, Goshen; grandparents, Carol Johns, Massillon, Ohio and Lester (Marilyn) Burkey and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m. funeral will be conducted at Sugar Grove Church, Pastor Ian McClellan will officiate.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life and meal will be held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 29, at the Goshen Boys and Girls Club, 306 Crescent Street, Goshen, 46528.
