Cecil Charles Swarzendruber, 71, of Goshen, died Monday evening, January 24, 2011, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Florida, after suffering a stroke on January 17. He was born on April 19, 1939 to the late Walter and Bessy (Caul) Swartzendruber at the family home in Huron County, Michigan. He married Erma Kauffman on May 14, 1961 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Roger (Kami) Swartzendruber and Jeff Swartzendruber, both of Goshen; a daughter, Debra (Shane) Gascho of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; five grandchildren; a brother, Winston (Corrine) Swartzendruber of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; and two uncles, Edd and Claude Swartzendruber, both of Goshen. He was preceded by an infant son. Mr. Swartzendruber was owner and operator of Cecil’s Heating and Cooling until retiring in 2008. A member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed collecting clocks. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, funeral service will be held at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Brethren Food Pantry or Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
