Cecil Akers, Jr.

Cecil Akers, Jr., 72, died early Friday morning, December 9, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Elkhart. He was born July 22, 1939 in Winiford, West Virginia to the late Cecil Akers and Virginia (Cantebury) Akers Higginbotham. He is survived by two sons, Cecil and Thomas Akers; a daughter, Pam Akers, Goshen; two sisters, Iris Kemper, Elkhart, and Gayle (Gus) Zamudio, Goshen; and two brothers, Jerry (Pat) Akers, Elkhart, and Paul (Vickie) Akers, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean McCubbins and a brother, Ronald Lee Akers. There will be no services. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
