Catherine R. Albert

Catherine R. Albert, age 72, of Wakarusa, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 17, 1953, in Elkhart to Carl Long and Norma (Pfaller) LeCount. Catherine grew up in the area and graduated from Goshen High School.

Catherine was a woman who found immense joy in the simple things in life. She loved the thrill of looking for treasures at garage sales, dedicating time to her scrapping with her longtime friend, and spending quiet moments with her beloved dog, Mable. Above all, her greatest joy came from her family. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on from the sidelines of their many activities.

She is survived by her loving children, Johna (Leslie) Pearl of Elkhart and Heather (Jeremy) Bechtel of Wakarusa; her eight cherished grandchildren, Sasha Albert, Jenica Albert, Dakota Pearl, Donavan Pearl, Damiah Pearl, Max Bechtel, Millie Bechtel, and Mitchell Bechtel; and her siblings, Sandra Parks of Oregon, Lyn (Jon) Ridenour of Wabash, Janet Jones of Washington, and Arthur (Grace) Davey of Michigan; and her former spouse, Tim Albert.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill Long.

In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, cremation will take place, and no formal funeral or burial services are planned. The family appreciates the compassionate care provided by Ascent Hospice during her final days.
