Carroll "Dick" D. Hobson

Carroll D. (Dick) Hobson, 93, of Goshen, died April 19, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

He was born August 5, 1928, to Lois and Carroll Hobson in Calvertsville.

Carroll attended Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1950. At Purdue he was a member of the Navy ROTC and upon graduation was commissioned as a naval officer. He served the duration of the Korean War aboard the USS Badoeng Straight aircraft carrier.

He married Demah Ingalls on August 22, 1950. They had a lifelong love and partnership that produced three children: Marilyn Rodibaugh of Victor, New York, Richard Hobson of Elkhart and Kim Strycker of Wakarusa.

Carroll was the Vice President of Engineering for the Goshen Rubber Company for over 40 years.

He was an avid Purdue fan.

He is survived by his children Marilyn (George) Rodibaugh, Richard (Teresa) Hobson and Kim (Jamie) Strycker; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife Demah, his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will follow at the Violet Cemetery.
