Carolyn Jane Rowe

Carolyn “Jane” Marquis Rowe, 83, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, December 14, at home.

She was born November 16, 1940, in Goshen to Herman and Rosemary (Greiner) Marquis.

On June 11, 1960 she married Larry J. Rowe at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He survives along with three children, April (Ben) Newby, Cochran, Georgia, Matthew Rowe, Cromwell and Elizabeth “Betsy” Rowe, South Bend; five grandchildren, Susan, Tyler, Lindsay, Landon, and Kara; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Atlas; former son-in-law who is still considered family, Jeremy Zentz; two sisters, Janet (Herbert) Hoover, Goshen, Marilyn Saal, Fort Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Linda Marquis, Casa Grande, Arizona.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Anne Marquis and Peter Marquis.

A 1959 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Rowe retired in 2005 from the Elkhart Township Assessor’s office after 23 years of service. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she attended school.

Her hobbies included caring for her family, reading, home decorating, flower gardening and quilt making. Her biggest joy was her family and she had an ability to make ordinary feel special.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Brian Florin will officiate.

Burial at Violett Cemetery will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
