Carolyn Bowens Perea

Carolyn Bowens Perea, 56, of Goshen, died at her home Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2013. She had been ill the past year. She was born Jan. 1, 1957 in Clintwood, Virginia, to Earl and Martha (Vanover) Bowens. She married Rene Perea in 2005 in Goshen. He survives along with a daughter, Linda (Roberto) Garcia of Goshen; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and ten brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. A lifetime Goshen resident, Carolyn worked as a clerk at the Salvation Army, Goshen. She enjoyed garage saling, dancing and spending time with her family. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Mel and Mrs. Edna Shetler will officiate. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, c/o of Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
