Carolyn S. Hendrix, 81, of Goshen, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 2, 1942 in Pike County to Imel and Dorothy Mae (Loveless) McGillem.
She married Paul Hendrix on October 13, 1973 in Middlebury.
He survives along with three children, Lori (Tim) Keenum of Goshen, Stephen (Rojona) Davis of Nappanee and Melanie (Rudy) Solis of Constantine, Michigan; six step-children, Jeannie Dibble and Tami Shanholt both of Goshen, Paul “Ed” and Steven Hendrix both of Constantine, Michigan, Melissa (Mike) Lantz of Goshen and Amie (Eric Ecklebarger) Kyle of Evansville, Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lisa Jo McGillem of Huntingburg and Vicki (Rex) Beach of Princeton and Sandy (Jim) Reid of Fort Branch.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Wood Wilson and a brother, Johnny McGillem.
Carolyn retired from Teachers Credit Union as a teller supervisor in 2007 and she sold Longaberger baskets. Some of her hobbies included adult coloring books, playing Uno, watching Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking meals for them.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Chaplain Greg Eads will officiate.
Burial will follow at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.
Memorial donations may be directed to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
