Carol L. Summy

Carol L. Summy, 80, of Goshen died Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Green House Village of Goshen.

She was born July 2, 1940 in Goshen to John and Lucille (McFarland) Cornell.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Summy; a daughter, Cristie (Brian) Doss of Suffolk, Virginia; a son, Michael L. (Ellen) Summy, II of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Summy, and a brother, John Cornell.

Carol worked at The Goshen News for 20 years and also worked as a bailiff in the Elkhart County Courts.  Carol was very generous with her time and served the Goshen community in many ways including as a board member for Goshen Community Schools, Goshen Public Library, Goshen Hospital, City of Goshen Cemeteries and Goshen Park and Recreation.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, July 6, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  Rev. Timothy Yoder will officiate.
