Carol Mae Stark

Carol M. Stark, 81, of Goshen, died Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She had been ill two years. She was born September 3, 1930 in Goshen to the late Arthur and Edna (Smetzer) Hoffman. She married Burns Stark Jr., October 4, 1952 at Sugar Grove Church. He died March 28, 2005. She is survived by three daughters, Diana (Dwight) Gipson of Elkhart and Linda (Tim) Troyer and Gail (Dave) Toney, both of Goshen; two sons, Mike Stark and Randy Stark, both of Goshen; eight grandchildren; a sister, Dee Hurtle of Goshen; and three brothers, Dewey (Bea) Hoffman of St., Louis, Missouri, and Dan (Betty) Hoffman and Wayne Hoffman, both of Goshen. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Reese, Lyle and Paul Hoffman. A homemaker, dedicated farmer's wife and loving grandma, Mrs. Stark was a lifetime member of the Sugar Grove Church. She was also a member of the Indiana and American Jersey Cattle Associations and bowled on a Rainbo Lanes team for 30 years. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 21 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 service at Sugar Grove Church. Pastor Rick Gering will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church.
