Carol Jean LaRue, 83, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, March 11,2 014, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born January 28, 1931 in Goshen to Jerry and Beulah A. (Bauer) Kehr. On August 28, 1949 she married James LaRue in Goshen. He survives along with two sons, Michael J. LaRue of Morley, Michigan and Jon C. (Brenda) LaRue of Millersburg; four grandchildren, Carin Medford and Mattie, Jared and Travis LaRue; a sister, Joan (Leo) Zieller of Middletown, Connecticut.; and two brothers, Ronald (Marilyn Kehr of Goshen and Martin "Bill" (Val) Kehr of Plainfield. She was preceded in death by her parents. A lifelong Goshen resident, Carol spent her life serving others. She was an active member of Plymouth United Church of Christ; a lifetime member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 30; a member of the Goshen Republican Women's Club; and managed the Goshen Republican Headquarters office. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Linda Sue Hewitt will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Plymouth United Church of Christ or a charity of the donor's choice.
