Carl V. Earnhart, 92, of Goshen, died peacefully in his sleep Monday, November 1, 2010, at Courtyard Healthcare where he had been the past two weeks. He was born in Pierceton on April 1, 1918, to Carl J. and Cleo (Kitson) Earnhart. He married Virginia Sarjent on October 5, 1940, in Goshen. She died March 16, 2007. He is survived by a daughter, Carla Marie (Donald) Myers of West Chester, Pennsylvania; a son, Douglas Ray (Christine) Earnhart of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Menzie of Pierceton. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Aurel, Hollis and Robert Earnhart. Mr. Earnhart graduated from Pierceton High School. He was part owner of Goshen Mold and Tool Company and also worked as a project engineer at Mogul Rubber Corporation, retiring in 1985. A WWII veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in both Goshen and White Pigeon; the VFW Post 985 and the American Legion, both of Goshen. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 4, at the funeral home. A 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Alan Griffin of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
