Carl A. Deischer, Jr., 78, of Goshen, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1942, in Bloomington to Mary Bell (Petro) and Carl A. Deischer Sr.
On September 14, 1963, he married Mildred V. Lennox. She died December 1, 2005. On May 10, 2010, he married Laura Diaz Colon.
She survives along with three daughters, Tina Marie (Matthew) Kilmer, Cindy Lee (Gregory) Pletcher and Elizabeth Deischer, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Britni (Ryan Smith) Deischer, Nick (Chelsea) Deischer, Joshua (Chelsea) Kilmer, Steven (Laura) Kilmer, Taylor Pletcher, Jade (Brad) Ackerman, Brodyn Pletcher; five great-grandchildren, Zadian, Zoey, Jenna, Lincoln and Eleanor and a sister, Donna (Glen) McCoskey, Black Hawk.
Along with his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Linda Armstrong and William Deischer.
A US Army veteran, Mr. Deischer retired in sales from American Cargo. He came to Goshen with First National Bank where he was a branch manager and loan officer. He served as a reserve with the Goshen Police Department in the 70 and 80’s. He was a Mason, a true American patriot and a fan of both the Chicago Cubs and President Donald Trump.
He adored his family, especially the grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be given in his honor to St. John’s Catholic Schools.
