Calvin L. Kurtz

Calvin L. Kurtz, 91, of Elkhart, died Saturday evening, March 21, 2015 at Elkhart Hospice House. He was born March 17, 1924 in Goshen to Alvin and Edith (Huber) Kurtz. On May 28, 1952 he married Mary Cripe in Goshen. She survives along with two daughters, Sally (Fred) Dils and Debra (Daniel) Hawkey, both of Elkhart; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Bruce) Propst of Northumberland, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Robert (Betty) Kurtz of Mathis, Texas, and Warren (Patricia) Kurtz of St. Joseph, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willis Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz worked in sales at Singer Sewing Machine Company for 20 and then worked in R. V. part sales for Coast Distribution, for more than 30 years. He was a former member at West Goshen Church of the Brethren. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at noon. Rev. Sam Boys will officiate. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
