C. Robert “Bob” Cotherman, 89, of Goshen, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born November 19, 1926 in Goshen to Charles and Clara (Lustenberger) Cotherman.
On September 3, 1949 he married Beverly E. Rarick in Goshen. She died September 3, 2015.
Bob is survived by five children, Denise (Rob) Hoffer of Goshen, Teresa (Jim) Fenner of Middlebury, Steven (Paula) Cotherman of Lawrenceburg, Gary (Sonja) Cotherman of Goshen and Kevin (Mary) Cotherman of Baltimore, Maryland; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters, twin Mary Louise Cotherman and Rosemary Reed.
A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Cotherman graduated in 1944 from Goshen High School.
Mr. Cotherman served with the U.S. Navy for two years during World War II. He was a lifetime member of both the Goshen V.F.W Post 985 and American Legion Post 30. He also served with the Goshen Veterans’ Honor Guard.
For 40 years he worked as a brick layer. Following his retirement he worked as a gate attendant at Ox Bow Park. He was an avid fisherman and loyal Notre Dame fan.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he volunteered as an usher.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with a rosary service at 4:30 p.m.
A 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016, funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to V.F.W. Post #985 or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
