Byron “Bud” S. LaMunyon, 77, of Goshen, died Wednesday morning, November 22, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born March 3, 1929, in Elkhart, to Homer and Bestina LaMunyon. He married Anna Belle Goble on December 12, 1952, in New Paris. She died July 4, 2000. A lifelong resident of the area, he retired in 1987 as a truck driver for the Elkhart County Highway Department. He then worked at the Middlebury Dairy Queen. He served with the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Goshen DAV #15, the Bristol American Legion #143, the Goshen VFW #985, the Goshen Moose #1047, and the Goshen Fraternal Order of Eagles #1526. He had served on the Executive Board of the Bristol Legion and as a past commander of the DAV. He is survived by a daughter, Gloria (Roger) Taylor of Goshen; a son, Anthony “Buck” LaMunyon of Goshen; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Margaret (Raymond) Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia; and a brother, John Potter of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Dennis Goble; two sisters and two brothers. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 27, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Dr. Sam Muncy of the DAV will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
