Byrd E. Frederickson

Byrd Elaine Frederickson, 85, of Granger, formerly of Leesburg, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at StoryPoint Assisted Living.

She was born February 8, 1936, in Leesburg to Owen F. and Bertha Mae (Evans) Frederickson. They preceded her in death.

She grew up in Leesburg and graduated in 1954 without missing a day of school.

Byrd enlisted in the WAC’s where she served 22 years. This allowed her to see different countries throughout her career and she retired a Master Sergeant. She moved to Wildwood, Illinois and worked in civil service until moving to Florida. She enjoyed her years there until moving back to Indiana to be near family.

She is survived by a brother, Art (Maxine) Frederickson of Goshen; two nieces, Angie (Carl) Yoder of Millersburg and Lisa Gillis of Wakarusa; and a nephew, Craig (Samantha) Frederickson of Middlebury.

There will be one hour of visitation Friday, September 17, prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
