Bonnie M Kuhns, 63, of Goshen, died suddenly Friday afternoon, December 2, 2011, in Littleton Colorado while visiting family with her husband. She was born on August 13, 1948 in Danville, Illinois, to Charles and Rena (Mathis) Lester. She married Carlyle W. Kuhns on September 27, 1969 at First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Jill Kuhns of McCordsville; two sons, Jeffrey (Melissa) Kuhns, and Jason Kuhns both of Fishers; four grandchildren, Jalen Moore, Tyler, Ashton and Evan Kuhns; her mother, Rena Lester, and a sister Chris (Lester) Halley both of Littleton, Colorado; a brother, David (Karen) Lester of Dinosaur, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Jill Lester of South Bend, and 10 nieces and nephews as well as 10 great-nieces and nephews. A homemaker, Mrs. Kuhns was an officer of CWK Transport Inc, and worked part time for IU Health Systems. She enjoyed gardening, basket weaving, traveling, and doing special things for her family - especially cooking and baking during the holidays. She very much loved being a grandmother, was a devout Christian, a true prayer warrior, and attended Nappanee Missionary Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Lester Jr., and brother, Ronald Lester. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, funeral at the Nappanee Missionary Church. Pastor Marvin Engbrecht will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Burial will be at a later date at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
