Bonnie Elaine Emmert Craft, formerly of Syracuse, went peacefully to meet her Savior Jesus Christ at 10:42 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Bonnie was born in Goshen on February 15, 1942 to John and Eva (Rink) Emmert.
She graduated from New Paris High School in 1960 and from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s of Science. Bonnie did not miss a Purdue Football or Basketball game if she could help it. She completed her Master’s from Northern Illinois University.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Jeff) Byerhof of Cornucopia, Wisconsin, Elaine (Randy) Book of Capron, Illinois, Darrell (Stephanie) Shover of Syracuse, and Edward (Lisa) Shover of Cortland, Illinois; grandchildren, Jessica (Seth) Whitfield, Caleb (Amber) Byerhof , Courtney Byerhof, Kristen Book, Stephanie (Brian) O’Malley, Justin (Samantha) Book, Gloria Book, Daniel (Rachel) Book, Josiah Book, Stephen (Erin) Book, Nathan (Alex) Shover, Rachel Shover, Andrew Shover, Ember Shover; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Diane Symensma of Valencia, California.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwin Craft and brother, Dennis Emmert.
Bonnie was a dedicated mother, grandmother and special friend to many. Family was her joy and she valued every moment she had with them. She poured much love into the many comforters she made for her children and grandchildren as they celebrated graduations and marriages. She loved to laugh with her family and especially treasured the times at the lake with family and reading in her floatie chair in the middle of Lake Wawasee. Her smile and total commitment to life will be sorely missed.
Visitation will take place Monday, April 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
