Beverly "Joan" Neer

Beverly “Joan” Neer, 81, of New Paris, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at South Bend Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 24, 1935 in Milford to Forest and Mary (Garrison) Ringler.

On August 10, 1957 she married Donald E. Neer at Syracuse Church of God.

He survives along with three daughters, Angie (Stuart) Wilson of Grand Haven, Michigan, Alicia Long of Bremen and Amber (Brad) Osswald of Arcadia; two sons, Dana (Joni) Neer of Culver and Darren Neer of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Stewart of Deland, Florida and Wanda Neibert of South Carolina.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Personette.

A 1957 graduate of Moody Bible College, Chicago, Joan was active at Wawasee Heights Baptist Church and currently at Nappanee Missionary Church, serving in many different areas.

Joan was a part owner of Neer’s Powerwash along with her husband Don, New Paris and also worked at New Paris Elementary School, where she retired as head cook. She enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship in Goshen; entertaining and cooking; traveling; and caring for her grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the 6 p.m. funeral service at Nappanee Missionary Church.  Rev. Dave Engbrecht and her son, Dana Neer will officiate. A time of fellowship will follow the service.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory following the service.
