Beverley A. Loucks

September 23, 1930 — August 10, 2021

Goshen

Beverley A. Loucks, 90, of Goshen, passed away August 10, 2021, at home.

Beverley was born September 23, 1930 in Jacksonville, Illinois, to Edgar (Peffley) Rapp and Helen Kime, but raised by her grandparents, Albert and Perninah (Myers) Kime of Dunlap, after her mother's death in 1938.

She married Loyal K. Loucks on July 18, 1949 at the Dunlap E.U.B. (now United Methodist) church in Dunlap.  He preceded her in death on May 15, 2011.

Surviving are her daughter, Ginger Loucks of Goshen; a son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Joyce (Fisher) Loucks of Syracuse; a granddaughter, Alicia (Marc Balog) Loucks of Los Angeles, California; a grandson, Rev. Chad (Rachel Hirschey) Loucks of Marietta, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Benaiah, Liliana & Junia Loucks; a sister, Merry (Carl) Ferguson of Goshen,  and  brothers, Rev. William “Bill” Rapp, Huntington and Gary A. Rapp, Elkhart.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar A. “Joe” Rapp, 2012, of Elkhart and John A. “Jack” Rapp, 2015, of Goshen.

Beverley graduated from Concord High School 1948. School days included working at the Dunlap Telephone Office and singing in the Sugar Grove Ladies Quartet on the WTRC radio program with Rev. Priest.

She worked alongside Loyal as he built custom made travel trailers known as Sunset Mobile Homes until the 1965 Palm Sunday Tornado destroyed the factory. She then worked at various places until retiring in 1986 from Schneider Chiropractic.

While she enjoyed her flower beds and garden, she especially enjoyed reading the Bible, organizing various women's ministries, teaching Sunday School and having family around. She also enjoyed writing poems and songs or painting pictures that reminded her of God's love. She participated in Win Some Women activities and was a Bible Study Fellowship Group Leader from the late 1970's to early 1980's. She was also member of New Paris Missionary Church, New Paris.

After retirement, she and Loyal spent their winters in Sebring, Florida where she shared God's love to those around her in many, many ways.

She knew that the Lord was her SHEPHERD and for those reading this obituary, she asks the question, “Is HE yours?”.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the New Paris Missionary Church, New Paris, from 3 to 5 p.m. with the Celebration Service starting at 5:30 p.m.   Burial will take place at Yellow Creek Brick Cemetery at a later date.
