Bettye P. Marner

August 8, 1931 — August 31, 2015

Bettye P. Marner, 84, of Goshen, passed away Monday evening, August 31, 2015, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after a short illness. She was born August 8, 1931 in Goshen to John E. and Alice L. (Bowman) Smith. On December 31, 1948 she married George O. Marner in Goshen. He died September 15, 2010. Mrs. Marner is survived by two daughters, Connie (Rick) Dills, and Cynthia (Rodney) Blackburn, both of Goshen; two sons, Larry (Connie) Marner and Jeffrey Marner, both of Elkhart; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Garry Marner; four sisters, Edith Neff, Lilly, Donna and Dorothy Smith and four brothers, Oscar, Donald, Junior and Richard Smith. A lifetime Goshen resident, Mrs. Marner worked as a press operator at NIBCO. A member of Zion Church of God, she most recently was attending New Testament Bible Church and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, going to garage sales and reading romantic novels. She volunteered at The Window for six years. Friends may call Thursday, September 3, 2015, one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Shirley Fox, New Testament Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
