Betty H. Smith

October 25, 1928 — January 8, 2017

Betty H. Smith, 88, of New Paris, passed away early Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at her home.

She was born October 25, 1928 in Wyatt to Floyd and Crystal (Ross) Holland.

On November 26, 1947 she married Ralph Smith.  He died February 17, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Scott (Brenda) Smith, Milford, and David Smith, New Paris; and four grandchildren.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brad Smith; a brother, Norman “Sonny” Holland; and two sisters, Donna Culp and Bev Hunsberger.

Betty worked as a teller at Salem Bank which became Trustcorp, which became KeyBank, before she retired in 2000.

A founding member of People’s Bible Church, Benton, Betty’s life revolved around family, friends and church.

According to her wishes cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Friends may call from 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial service on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at People's Bible Church, Benton.

Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to People’s Bible Church or Goshen Hospice.
