Betty Joy Sherck, 80, died Thursday, April 21, 2022.

She was born September 9, 1941 in Goshen, Indiana to Daniel L. Mast and Saloma (Eash) Mast.

On October 22, 1966 she married William L. Sherck at Goshen City Church of the Brethren and they were married for 51 years until his death on September 27, 2018.

She is survived by their daughter, Timberley Sherck of Des Plaines, Illinois; and sisters Velda (David) Rohrer of Orrville, Ohio and Shirley (Vernon) Conrad of Bristol, Indiana.

Betty was a 1960 graduate of Millersburg High School, Goshen College in 1964 and received her Master in Spanish from Notre Dame.

She was a Spanish teacher for over 30 years and retired from Elkhart Central High School in 1996.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen.

Her entire life she was an avid gardener, bird watcher and reader of novels.  In her younger days she enjoyed camping with her family, was a terrific water skier, and Sunday school teacher.  Later in life she enjoyed singing in the choir at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, Indiana; listening to music, women’s groups at First United Methodist Church in Goshen, and her dear friends and family. She will be truly missed

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26 ^th from 1 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service beginning shortly thereafter at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

According to Betty’s wishes cremation will take place.
