Betty Jane Phend

Betty Jane Phend, 90, of Goshen, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, January 13, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in Kimmell on March 15, 1920, to the late Wilbur B. and Juanita (Miltenberger) Harroff.  She married Elmer J. Phend on December 25, 1941, in Kimmell.  He died August 18, 2008. Surviving are two sons, James W. (Susan) Phend of Carmel and John L. “Jack” (Julie) Phend of Locust Grove, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jennifer Nock and Nick Phend; and two great-granddaughters, Mia and Ella. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Harroff. Friends may call 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2011, at  Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Alan Griffin of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen.
