Betty J. Kyle

Betty J. Kyle, 74, of Goshen, died early Monday afternoon, June 16, 2008, in the emergency room at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Goshen on August 16, 1933, to William and Geneva (Witmer) Jacobs.  She married Charles L. Kyle on July 18, 1970 in Middlebury, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on November 6, 1988. A lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Kyle was a homemaker and a past member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by four sons, Bruce C. (Kim) Kyle, Kenneth W. (Donna) Metzger, William H. (Sherry) Hartman, and Robert A. (Kathy) Hartman; a step-son, Charles Lynn “Butch” Kyle; a step-daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Hernley; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steven Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a grandson, Heath Metzger; and a brother, James Jacobs. Friends may call2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at the funeral home. The Friday, June 20, 2008, funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Nephew David Kyle will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
