Betty Louise Hoover

November 23, 1926 — January 5, 2007

Betty Louise Hoover, 80, of Goshen, died Friday morning, January 5, 2007, at Greencroft Healthcare where she had been since June 2005.  She was born on November 23, 1926, in Lansing, Michigan, to Milton and Mina (Hahn) King.  On December 16, 1945, she married Dwight Paul Hoover in Lansing, Michigan.  He died January 17, 2000.   A homemaker, Mrs. Hoover came to Goshen in 1960, from Plymouth.  She had worked as a sales clerk at women’s clothing stores in Goshen.  She was a member of the Christian Fellowship of Goshen and had served as a deaconess in the Church of the Brethren.   She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Steven) Jarvis of Millersburg, and Pamela (James) Freeman of Elkhart; two sons, Paul Eugene (Paula) Hoover and Ray (Letha) Hoover, both of Goshen; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Two brothers, Milton (Brenda) King, Jr. of Bath, Michigan and Lyle Dean (Dorothy) King of Diamondale, Michigan, also survive.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; two sons, Robert and Larry Hoover and a brother, Charles King.   Friends will be received 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 7, and 2 to 4 p.m., Monday, January 8, at the funeral home.   A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Craig Garber of the Christian Fellowship of Goshen will officiate.   Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.  Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
