Betty Louise Hively, 53, of Goshen, died early Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness with Lupus. She was born in Jamestown, Tennessee, on February 4, 1955, to Caster and Ollie (Regan) Scott. A Goshen resident since 1970, Ms. Hively retired from Smoker-Craft in New Paris after many years. She is survived by a daughter, Keisha Hively of Goshen; a step-daughter, Tina Goodman of Charles, West Virginia; a step-son, Bobby Hively of Spence, West Virginia; her ex-husband, Allen Hively of Walton, West Virginia; two grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Cross of Las Vegas, Nevada and Wanda Nester of Plymouth, Ohio; three brothers, Ira, Bill and J. Harold Scott, all of Jamestown, Tennessee; and her in-laws, James K. and Lena Jane Lowe of New Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Scott and a sister, Helen Cass. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 9, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Curry will officiate. Burial will be in New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
