Betty A. Estes

Betty A. Estes, 77, of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, December 30, 2007, at Valley View Healthcare in Elkhart, where she had been since a heart valve replacement in September 2007. She was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky, on April 22, 1930, to Barney and Nora (Mercer) Meredith.  She was divorced from Henry Estes.  He died October 19, 1997. Mrs. Estes moved to Goshen in 1961, coming from Leitchfield.  She worked as an inspector for Goshen Rubber, retiring in 1995 after 17 years.  She was a member of the Full Gospel Community Church in New Paris. She is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Vernon) Sheley, Nora Laws, and Sue Adkins, all of Goshen; three sons, Randall (Diane) Carnes of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, and Henry “John” (Charlotte) Estes and Phillip Estes, both of Goshen; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alpha Greider of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; two sons, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, at the funeral home. A 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2008, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Fred Curry of the Full Gospel Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen.
