Betty Mae (Dills) Dirck, 81, of Goshen, passed away at her home on Thurs., Sept. 26, 2024.

She was born to Clare and Iris (Hershberger) Dills in Elkhart.

Betty married Donald Dirck on Dec 27, 1960, at the Goshen College Church Cabin. He survives, including 2 daughters, April “Dawn” (Gary) Myers, and Sharon (Kris) Hershberger, both of Goshen; grandchildren, Jeremey and Dirck Shriner, Aleta (Mike) Plajer, Kasey and Korey Hershberger; great-grandchildren Braxton and Brody Myers, Scarlett Plajer, and Aurora Shriner; and sisters Anna Falconi, Maryland, Mary Miller, Elkhart, Joy Moles, Goshen, and Bonnie (Robert) Null, Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, John, Michael, Richard, William, and Janet Dills, Carol Moles, and Kitty Fink.

Betty was a member of Sugar Grove Church since 1989, where she volunteered in the Awana Program.  Betty also participated with the Bible Study Fellowship as a children’s leader for many years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together, highlighted by a trip to the Holy Land. She especially enjoyed sewing and cooking, but the most important thing to her was her family and helping others.

Visitation will take place on Mon. Sept. 30, from 11-1 p.m., until the 1 p.m. funeral service, all at Sugar Grove Church. Rev. Patrick Neff and Pastor Rick Donald of Sugar Grove Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be shared to Sugar Grove Church or to World Missionary Press.
