Bettie Ruth Von Fange

Bettie Ruth (Jacobs) VonFange, 88, of Fountain Valley, California, formerly of Goshen, died Tuesday, June 21, at her home. She was born April 27, 1923 in Hamtramack, Michigan, the only daughter of Otto Henry and Annie Rose (Lauff) Jacobs. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran Church. In June of 1941 she graduated with honors from Redford High School. She then graduated in 1948 from Wayne State University. She married Arthur W. Von Fange on January 31, 1948; their marriage stood for fifty years until Art's death April 7, 1999. The couple resided for the better part of their married life in Indiana, where Art's business, Electro-Painters, Inc., was located. Bettie spent her final years in California, where she succumbed to a massive stroke. She leaves behind four children, Janice (Paul) Massatt, Fountain Valley, California, John (Cindy) Von Fange, Pueblo West, Colorado, Neil Von Fange, Columbus, and Curtis (Michelle) Von Fange, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Jonathan (Leah) Von Fange, Christina (Randy) Culver, Kimberly (Kyle) Von Fange, Stephanie Von Fange, Joanna (James) Halverson, Susanna Von Fange, Marianne (Michael) Beard, Sam Von Fange, and Elysha, Joshua, Sarah, Daniel and David Massatt, along with four great-grandchildren. A private memorial service was held July 2, 2011 at Shove Chapel of Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her cremains will be buried alongside her beloved husband in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, where a private graveside service will be held on September 27, 2011.
