Bertha M. Chupp Looney, 90, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, November 16, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Goshen on February 22, 1920 to John and Ella (Strycker) Bainter. She married Lloyd Chupp on September 23, 1941 in Auburn. He died April 3, 1973. She then married Houston Looney on October 4, 1985 in Goshen. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Larry D. (Diana) Chupp of Valparaiso, and Steven (Gladys) Chupp of Goshen; two step-daughters, Debra (Earl) Bledso of Van Wert, Ohio, and Pamela Santigo of Farmer City, Illinois; two step-sons, Randy H. Looney and Bruce Looney; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a step-great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Esther Zook and Erma Varma, both of Ocala, Florida; and a brother, Robert Baineter of Ocala, Florida. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ottman and a brother, William Bainter. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 18, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Kincaid of Assembly of God Church, Goshen, officiating. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
