Bernice Elizabeth Rogers

Bernice Elizabeth Rogers, 59, of Elkhart, died late Friday evening after a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 2, 1953, in Goshen to Russell Sowers Jr., and Jeannette (Wortinger) Peartree. She is survived by her mother; children, Billie Rae Bontrager, and Bobbie Rae Bontrager Jenkins, both of Goshen; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leannette (Jim) Mays, Ypsilanti, Mich., M. Diane Perkins, Belle, W.Va.; two brothers, R. Monroe Sowers, New Paris, and R. Wayne Sowers, Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father. In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place. A memorial service may be held at a later date. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
