Bernice M. Berger, 96, of Goshen, died at her home Saturday morning, Sept. 27, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born in Goshen July 21, 1918 to Charles and Josie (Blake) Conrad. On June 28, 1941 she married George C. Berger in Franklin. He died July 29, 1975. She is survived by a daughter, Vicki L. (Charles) Tredway; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Berger; three grandchildren, Alyse M. Webb, Amy C. Berger and Daniel C. (Tasha) Berger; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas C. Webb, Madison J., Aidan C., Andrew T. and Lauren E. Berger; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret A. and Miriam M. Conrad, all of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Larry L. Berger; three sisters, Marie E. VanNess, Olive R. Conrad and Ruth A. Bickel; and three brothers, Arthur H., Allen C. and Grover L. Conrad. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Berger graduated from Millersburg High School in 1934 and was a former member of both Fish Lake Lutheran Church and St. Peter's Lutheran Church, both of Millersburg. She was a member of LifePoint Church, formerly known as First Church of God, in Goshen. Her work included being a farmer's wife, housecleaning, nurse's aide and assembly line worker at Goshen Rubber for 19 years until retiring in 1985. Following her retirement she worked at B & C Assemblers, Goshen, until age 75. Friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Pastor Troy Scott, LifePoint Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to LifePoint Church.
