Benjamin Michael Snook, 29, of Goshen died Saturday evening, May 24, 2008, at Elkhart General Hospital due to a motorcycle/vehicle accident on Cassopolis Street near North Shore Drive in Elkhart. He was born in Goshen on February 5, 1979 to Michael Snook and Pat Havens. A 1997 graduate of Goshen High School, Ben attended Purdue University and worked as a conductor for Norfork Southern Railroad.  He enjoyed rock climbing, camping, kayaking and gun target practicing. He is survived by his parents, Michael (Ginger) Snook and Pat (Tim) Havens, both of Goshen; a sister, Brittany (Aaron) Hochstetler of Nappanee; a step-brother, Paul Handshoe of Goshen; grandparents, Weldon and Jan Reynolds of Middlebury, and Carlyle and Pat Baumgartner of Ocala, Florida; and great-grandmother, Helen Kauffman Henry of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a step-sister, Tracey Handshoe in 1972; grandfather, Kermit Snook in 1983; grandmother, Doris Snook in 2008; and step-grandparents Robert and Sally Havens. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Terrell of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Goshen, will officiate the 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008, funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or Goshen Park and Recreation Department.
