Becky S. Schmitt

Becky S. Schmitt, 67 of Goshen died Friday, May 8, 2026 at Waterford Crossing Healthcare after a short illness.

She was born September 21, 1958 in Goshen to John and Dorothy (Mast) Blackport. On October 12, 2002 she married Ken Schmitt in Goshen.

He survives along with her daughter, Amy (Rob) Cunningham of Bristol and step-children, Jen (Matthew) Kobie of Elkhart; Matthew Schmitt of Spokane, Washington, and Ryan (Lindsay) Schmitt of Elkhart

Other survivors include a sister Marsha (Gary) Weaver of North Webster and a sister-in-law, Jan (Gary) Orpin of Hesston, Kansas., and four grandchildren Skyler (Matt Smith II) Allberry , Cheyenne Schrock, Caleb Schmitt and Bobby Cunningham, and, a great-grandchild.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Schrock and a brother, Lowell Blackport.

A 1976 graduate of Fairfield High School, Becky worked at both Homecrest and Veada Industries. She loved being a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and especially great-grandmother.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m.

Burial will take place at a later date.
