Beatrice Williams, 91, of Elkhart, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at 5:22 a.m. at her daughter's home surrounded by family. She was born November 23, 1921 in Chicago to George and Mary Ann (Adams) Cullen. She married William J. Williams Sept. 30, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia. They remained in Chicago as restaurant owners until moving to Elkhart in late 1952. Her husband William preceded her in death on March 22, 1999 after 56 years of marriage. Beatrice, a psych tech, retired from Elkhart General Hospital in 1984 after 20 years of service. Surviving is her only child, Gail Ann (Frank) Williams, whom she has lived with the past ten and a half years. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Williams, Kathleen A. Williams, Brenda K. (Scott) Whitehead and Ashley N. (Joshua) Gorce; nine great-grandchildren, Brittany (Shane) Goedek, Haley and Lindsay Robinson, Zachary Williams, Camryn. and Mitchell Whitehead, Danielle and Logan McIntosh, and Brooklyn Gorce; one great-great-grandson, Michael J. Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers, George, Jr., Joseph, Harry, William and John Cullen; and three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Russmusen, Dorothy Kloiber, and Patricia Ikins; and a great-grandson, Alexander P. Coffman. Beatrice will be greatly missed due to her endearing love of family. she was the prayer warrior for the family and enjoyed listening to spiritual music, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. A #1 fan of Lawrence Welk, she was always ready to offer advice when asked. She was a member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church but for the last decade has been attending Beulah Missionary Church. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013 and one hour prior to the 11 a.m., service on Thursday, October 17, 2013, all at the Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 C.R. 18, Goshen. Rev. Dr. Brent Poe and Rev. James Beeler will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Missionary Church.
