Beatrice M. Vannoster, 89, formerly of New Paris died Friday evening, September 5, 2008 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born in Elkhart County on January 25, 1919, to Glen and Leatha (Bralier) Stoner. She married Howard Vannoster on June 4, 1938 at the Solomon Creek Parsonage. He died August 10, 1988. A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Vannoster was a homemaker. She was a member of Richville United Methodist Church and a former member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She was very active with family activities, Scouts, Camp Fire, sports and livestock; and with St. Mark’s and Richville United Methodist churches. She is survived by one daughter, June (Bill) Neff, New Paris, two sons, Bruce (June) Vannoster, Goshen and Jerry (Juanita) Vannoster, Goshen; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Searfoss, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; a sister, Alice Ott; and two brothers, Hubert J. and Carl F. Stoner. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp funeral home. Rev. Omer Nisley of Brimfield United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given for Alzheimer’s research.
