Barbara Wilfong, 68, of Goshen, died Saturday, December 26 at Goshen Hospital where she had been since December 21.
She was born December 2, 1952 in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Ivon and Rodia (Hurt) Cyrus.
On Feb. 18, 2012 she married Harold Wilfong.
He survives along with two children, Angie Short of Seymour and Cody (Bailey) Short of Whitestown; two step-sons, Keith Wilfong of Howe and Kevin Wilfong of Goshen; two grandchildren, Baily Young and Chayce (Devin) Young; six step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Brooke and Bella Vance and Braden and Harlyn Young. Also surviving are six sisters, Beatrice Jenkins of Uniontown, Janttes Phillips of Deputy, Cindy Barnes of Madison, Phylles Steele of Commiskey, Betty Barcum of Scipio and Brenda Squires of East Corinth, Maine and two brothers, Dallas Cyrus of Seymour and Orville Cyrus of Madison.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Austin.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The lights of her life were her great-grandchildren that called her “GiGi”. Barbara loved her Yorkies like her children. She never met a stranger and met some of her closest friends while walking down the aisle of a grocery store. She was a very special woman.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
There will also be visitation Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Morgan Nay Funeral Home, Madison.
Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery, Madison.
Memorial donations may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
