Barbara L. Widner

Barbara L. Widner, 84, of Elkhart, died Monday afternoon, May 4, 2015 at Riverside Village, Elkhart. She was born May 15, 1930 in Goshen to Gerald and Oma (Bales) Rohn. On July 1, 1950 she married Powell Gene Widner. He died January 29, 2013. She is survived by a son, David (Janet) Widner of Goshen; a daughter, Paula (Scott) Troyer of Bristol; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Widner; three grandchildren, Molly Widner, Mark and Peter Troyer; two sisters, Helen Overholt and Leota Ritter; and two brothers, Howard and Melvin Rohn. Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Goshen High School. She was a homemaker and also worked for Goshen Community Schools and Weyerhauser & Bower Manufacturing. Friends may call Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5 until the 7 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Harold Knight will officiate. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial donations may be directed to Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, South Bend.
