Barbara Elaine Tayler, 72, of Goshen, died Monday, September 23, 2013, at her home. She was born October 29, 1940 in St. Louis. Missouri, to Joseph E. and Erna (Herrscher) Stelmach. She married Chuck Tayler September 2, 1967 in Oceanside, California. He survives along with two sons, Scott (Kaaren) Tayler of Rochester, New York and Tim (Mala) Tayler of Princeton, New Jersey; four grandchildren; and five siblings, Joan Hause, Allan Stelmach, Carolyn Woodward, Harlan Stelmach and Mary Weston. She was preceded in death by her parents. A graduate of Whittier College and a lifelong teacher, Barbara taught biology and chemistry in the Northridge High School for 18 years. In addition to teaching, Barbara and Chuck ran a bed and breakfast in Middlebury. A member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, Barbara enjoyed growing flowers in her greenhouse. For 20 years she worked alongside her husband in his woodworking business. Friends may call an hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Goshen City Church of the Brethren. Pastor Bev Weaver will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Goshen City Church of the Brethren, Northridge High School Dollars for Scholars or Goshen Home Care and Hospice. At Barbara's request, her body has been donated to I.U. Medical School.
