Barbara A. Renner, 82, of Goshen, passed away Thursday evening at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
She was born September 5, 1933 in Shipshewana to Noah and Lovina (Miller) Hochstetler.
On June 28, 1952 she married Lawrence E. Renner. He died October 27, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie L. Richardson and a son, Robert C. (Brenda) Renner, both of Goshen; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Fern Neff of New Paris; and two brothers, Omer (Nancy) Hochstetler of Middlebury and Jake (Jan) Hochstetler of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sisters, Katie, Vicki, Shirley, Margaret, Martha and Amanda; four brothers, Howard, Floyd, Pete and Harry; and a great-grandson, Zachary Bontrager.
A longtime area resident, Mrs. Renner was primarily a pastor’s wife. She ministered alongside her husband at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Greencastle, First Baptist Church of Sauk Village, Illinois and First Baptist Church, Goshen, where she was a member. Her spiritual gifts included encouragement and service to others.
She worked in production at Sun Metal and following retirement, at Chore-Time Brock.
Friends may call Monday, March 14, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Tuesday, March 15, 2016, funeral service will be conducted at First Baptist Church, Goshen, starting at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery.
