Barbara J. Ostrander

Barbara J. Ostrander, 87, of Goshen, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She was born March 3, 1926 in Paxico, Kansas, to William and Rosie (Piel) Weith. On December 3, 1956 she married Dennis Ostrander in Topeka, Kansas. He died February 11, 2000. She is survived by four daughters, Debbie Greene of St. Joseph, Missouri, Pamela (Bruce) Grover, Frances (Charles) Baer, and Kathy (Tom) Thrush, all of Goshen; two sons, Pat Ostrander of South Bend and Daniel (Debra) Ostrander of Goshen; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Kaiser of Barrington, Kansas, and Bernice Cline, Burlingame, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A Goshen resident since 1965, Mrs. Ostrander was a member of Benton Mennonite Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening, walking and boating. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A 10 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013, funeral service will be held at Benton Mennonite Church with Pastors Brenda Meyer and Doug Kaufman will officiate. Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Benton Mennonite Church.
