Barbara J. Miller, 63, of Goshen, died Monday morning, March 23, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born in Kendallville on April 17, 1945, to the late John Peter Becker and Sarah Jane (Schmuhl) Becker of Kendallville.  She married Jerry L. Miller on August 14, 1964, in Ligonier.  He survives. A registered nurse, Mrs. Miller was a member of the West Goshen Church of the Brethren where she served as deacon and member of the Audit Committee.  She graduated from Ligonier High School in 1963 and earned her BS in Nursing from Indiana State University in 1980.  She had worked at Mary Sherman Hospital, Sullivan, Indiana, and Regional and Union Hospitals in Terre Haute.  She retired in 2000 from Union Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Sarah Jane Becker; her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Heidi (Craig) Tornquist of Mishawaka, and Heather (Joe) Kidwell of Zionsville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Katie, Carrie, and Emma Tornquist, and Luke and Sam Kidwell; and three siblings, Connie (Ray) Hicks of Fort Wayne, Russell (Patty) Becker of Ligonier, and Daniel (Brenda) Becker of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant daughter.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. An 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at West Goshen Church of the Brethren.  Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be given to West Goshen Church of the Brethren or The American Heart Association.
