Barbara Joan Linderleaf, 79, of Goshen, went to live with our heavenly father on Friday afternoon, February 15, 2013, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for 24 years. She was born December 18, 1933 in Traverse City, Michigan, to Roy Douglas and Juanita Marie (Ross) Somers. She married Kenneth Max Linderleaf April 18, 1953 in Traverse City, Michigan. She is survived by six children, Kathleen Linderleaf (Root) of Lake City, Michigan, Christopher (Mike Sanders) Linderleaf of Escondido, California, Karen (Randy) Brown-Linderleaf of Traverse City, Michigan, Mark (Shirley) Linderleaf of Goshen, Patrick (Julie) Linderleaf of Tampa, Florida, and Melissa (Dan) Reece-Linderleaf of East Jordan, Michigan; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Joe) Hooper of Kingsley, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She worked as a bookkeeper for a pharmaceutical company. She was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and the love of her animals. An 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, memorial service will be conducted at Bristol United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Stayton officiating. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart County Humane Society.
