Barbara Jo Hatten

Barbara Jo “BJo” Hatten, 87, of Durango, Colorado, died December 23, 2019.

She was born July 11, 1932 in Goshen to Robert and Helen (Bailey) Benton.

On October 25, 1952 she married Creighton Hatten in Goshen.

He survives along with two children, Pamela Hatten and Brad Hatten, both of Durango, Colorado; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four siblings, Jackie Burger and David Benton, both of Venice, Florida, Gale Hamm of Gainesville, Florida and Becky Benton of Alachua, Florida.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Clevenger and a grandson.

A 1950 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Hatten attended Indiana University.  She was a homemaker, elementary school secretary and a member of PEO.  She was also an active member of the various churches she attended over her lifetime.  Being a grandmother was a highlight of her life.

Family and friends will gather for a graveside service Thursday, July 8, at 2 p.m., at Violett Cemetery.
